Step aside Barbie.....

Well i must say Nevada is a very lucky girl LOL.

I constantly look for things i can make her and today was no exception.

Poor Taz although he is past the age of wanting things made for him (he is nearly 8)

In the machines today was a T-shirt with what else... yep lalaloopsy hehehehehe

Now she does have some Barbie dolls but they dont even get a look in.

How can they when these dolls are just so stinkin cute :)

We (well I) changed our minds on what dolls we are getting from the States

i fell in LOVE with the one on ice skates and just had to have her

so they will be winging their way to me this week :)

I think i might have to do a GIVEAWAY just because i want someone else to have some LalaLoopsy doll clothes

the obsession begins........

Ok so you all saw the post yesterday, I have a new obsession with Lalaloopsy.

My husband thinks i am NUTS lol but they are just so cute that i cant resist.

Am i crazy or do you love them too?

We started our collection Christmas day with

These 2 cuties Kat Jungle Roar who is the big one and Whiskers Lions Roar the little one :)

Today i got

 Pix E Flutters someone on Gumtree was selling her brand new in the pack for $25 so i jumped on her lol

I also have realised that they are cheaper in the states even with postage

i have these in my cart at the moment just waiting for my husband to say go for it

 This is Pita Mirage she is a little sister doll i LOVE the shoes

 This is Specs Reads-a-lot again another little sister doll

 This is a large doll Coral Sea Shells her tail comes off and she has an extra outfit

So as you can see i am well on my way to being over run by these GORGEOUS dolss :)

LalaLoopsy CRAZY

Well i have been hiding im sorry

it got towards the end of the year and with EVERYONE needing EVERYTHING all at once i just couldn't keep up :(

Anyway i have a new obsession i think in the form of LalaLoopsy

i have been begging my daughter to get interested in them so i have an excuse to buy them but she always said no

well this year for Christmas she finally asked my mum for one (YAY)

and i have now made it my mission to make super cute clothing for it :)

I have started with a couple of things and here they are

 A mermaid

 The Queen of Hearts (this is my fav)

Beach Babe with fins and life preserver

Well what do you all think?

i can see this getting to be a HUGE obsession lol

Scrunchie Tutorial

Ok so im going to venture out and do my very first tutorial

today im going to show you how to make your own scrunchie

These can be used for all sorts of things like dance or gymnastics even school...

This is a 5 min project and you can use fabric scraps

Ok first things first cutting ....

 For this scrunchie i did 5 inch by 18 inch

 Then fold over one of the short ends to create a hem this just makes it neater at the end

 Fold the material in half lengthways and sew up the long side to make a "tunnel" as my daughter calls it.

 turn the fabric so the right side is out and all pretty

 so it looks like this

 Elastic i cut mine to 8 inches (i cut mine a bit longer in this photo whoops) you can make it shorter this will give more scrunch but not many twists around the hair

 feed the elastic through the fabric

 join the ends of the elastic to create a loop 

 Feed the unhemmed fabric end inside the neat one making sure to line up the join of the side stitches then with a zigzag stitch sew the fabric closed making sure that you catch both sides

 here is what it looks like when its finished :)

and here it is in the hair. Doesnt it look so pretty

Girlz Curlz review

Wow what can i say about this product. I am so happy that i found it and now to become a stockist is amazing.
This product eliminates the need for a curling wand ESPECIALLY for young girls. This is a much safer alternative and they wont get burnt.
 Ok so today the mailman knocks at my door and what do i find but a MASSIVE package for me.

 This is what came in my big package :)

there are 4 sets of the long and narrow 1 set of the long and wide 1 set of the extra long and wide and 1 set of long and extra wide

 This is what they look like out of the packet

 first thing to do is wet and towel dry the hair

 Add product to the hair (something stronger than what i used lol) this is mousse but any setting agent would be great

 Section off the hair

 feed the hook through the material

 Hook the hook around a 2.5cm piece of hair

 Then pull it through, it will spring up and stay in the hair

 Here is my first row done

 As you can see im working my way up the scalp

 This is it completed

Now Nevada might look quite scary but let me tell you this didnt hurt her at all. She is only 3 and not one ouch came from her at all.

I know when i bring out the curling wand there is PLENTY of ouches just from the heat (i have NEVER burnt her)

Then leave in the hair until dry. You can either air dry or blow dry the hair.

To remove is just as simple. Squeeze the top closest to the scalp and pull gently.

That is it

Here is the end result 

Next time i would use a stronger product in her hair (i used what i had lying around) and i think i would blow dry the hair

But i am SO SO happy with how they turned out.

Rain Rain Go Away

I must say i am rather sick of all this rain at the moment
I would like to be in my studio creating however it is all the way down the back of the yard 1/2 acre away and im so not going out in that, I may just melt away like the witch in the Wizard of OZ
On the upside I had a market on Saturday and my daughter performed in front of a rather large crowd without even blinking an eye so I'm hoping this bodes well for her eisteddfod performance on the 1st of July 
There was one lady standing behind my sister saying that her performance bought tears to her eyes insert massive grin HERE lol

 This is one of the costumes she wore to dance in.
There is still plenty of time to enter into our swimsuit give away all you have to do is come up with a name for my collection... that simple
I will be doing a tutorial this week (something i have wanted to do for a little while now) and doing one every couple of weeks just to keep things interesting
i will be starting with SCRUNCHIES as a nod back to the 80's i mean how much fun were they.
I will show you a simple way to make them so you can have your own at any time.
i am also taking requests of what tutorials you would like to see featured here and will have guests every now and then too

Swimsuit Give Away

As the weather really cools down here on the Gold Coast everyone is thinking winter woollies where as i am thinking NEW SWIMWEAR LINE!
I am working hard on getting the swimwear line into production and have the most wonderful and versatile pattern i have ever seen. (thanks Cole's Creations)
So now that i have come this far i NEED a name for the new line
It needs to be fun, memorable and really funky
It will be a little bit different, a little bit sparkly (gotta love rhinestones) have ruffles and really POP
So i am asking you all to put your BEST name forward so that i can do a proper launch come August

The runner up will get a $20 off a custom suit
and the third place will get $10 off a custom suit
if i get more than 50 entries there will be a random draw for a custom suit
